A Key to Falastine, 2024

Acrylic Paint on Lebanese Olive Wood
Documentation by Kim Feng Photography
Charity piece celebrating the beauty, freedom and culture of Palestinian people, that lives within them. The 'key' to their home exists in a tangible and intangible sense that is passed down through generations; a physical key held onto, a prize possession to be used to return home, and the 'key' to their culture, beings and way of living, that is embedded within who they are.
This illustration on Olive Wood is a tribute to the symbolic nature of Olive Trees and Olive Wood as a core part of Palestinian culture. The Lebanese Olive Wood is homemade, from an Olive Tree root found in Lebanon and cut, sliced and prepared by hand by my grandfather.
This piece was made for the Unassigned Gallery's fundraiser for Palestine, and has been sold as part of the exhibition.
